The LearningXChange

In October 2014, TLC hosted the LearningXChange—a forum designed to generate a vibrant dialogue and actionable ideas to enhance the student experience and help re-imagine innovative pathways to higher education.

The LearningXChange opened with a welcome from Arshad Ahmad, President of the Society for Teaching and Learning in Higher Education (2011 to 2014), followed by three concise talks based on the following themes:

  1. Knowing our Students to Ensure their Success
  2. Lifelong Learning in an Accelerating Knowledge-based Economy
  3. Harnessing Technology to Personalize the Student Experience
  4. Changing Institutional Structures and Cultures for 21st Century Teaching and Learning
  5. Converting Good Educational Theory into Widespread Teaching Practices

Participants were invited to deliver a short commentary on any of the fives themes listed above, or on a related topic of their choice.  Below you will find a collection of remarkable voices speaking on the future of Canadian high education.
